What Are Whiteheads And Blackheads?

Essentially, they are caused by the pores getting clogged and reacting in different ways. With a whitehead, the tiny skin pore (hole in the skin) gets clogged with dirt or grime, but then closes and thus bulges out. The white pus inside is actually dead white blood cells from the body that have swollen up and captured the bacteria on the skin. In contrast a blackhead happens when the pore stays open after being clogged - the top goes dark causing the blackhead.
