Why Cost Is Not Everything
Business : Running Your Business When running a business, many people think that the cost that they charge for their products or services is the key definer of how much business they receive. Whilst, of course, price is an important factor, it is not the only factor - there are several others and each business may think some of them are more important than others. Only through meeting a business will you get a good idea of what is important to them; and often they are not overly price sensitive. In these instances it pays to add a little to your price and emphasise rather the other aspects of your business that they value more. For instance: - delivering on time - reliability - quality control - maintenance and support quality - experience and market knowledge These are all very important to most companies, and they will as a rule always be willing to pay a little more if they feel they are benefitting more in some of these areas to competitors Therefore when in a sales situation it is important to emphasise all aspects and dynamics of your company; not just purely try to fight on price alone.
