I hair highlighted usually 4 months.

I have my hair highlighted usually about every 4 months. After about 6-8 weeks my hair becomes grey at the temples, so I have tried various light colours to cover the grey (just a small mixture of dye)but this seems to make my hair darker and seems to spoil the look of my highlights. Can you suggest that I can use to cover my grey at the temples.
