How to pick up a hamster?

I don't have any pictures, but a good way of getting your hamster used to being picked up is to put him in his exercise ball, then take the door off it and holding the ball over a surface, like a table, put the ball up to your hand and just keep your hand still and allow him to walk onto your hand, with time he will pluck up more courage and he will walk onto your hand every time..
