Rate of natural increase

hi this is really urgent

how do i work out the rate of natural increase if its only showing me the amount of births and deaths not the rate? do i just take away the 'per thousand people' bit so its just like 40% instead of 40000%???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? PLEASE WRITE BACK ASSAAAPPP I HAVE AN EXAM TOMOROW
