Superglue and plastic

How do I remove superglue from plastic?

Question From: Mark - Dec 15th 2003

Replies:

The best method to remove superglue from plastic is to use some warm soapy water.

This will weaken and loosen the stickiness and then with vigorous rubbing you can get the superglue off the plastic.

If this still brings no joy then try something like nail polish remover.

Failing that use emery paper to physically rub off the superglue.

There are also products available that are directly supposed to remove superglue - if you don't mind spending some money to remove the superglue from your plastic object, then this might be the best bet!

I got superglue on my glasses with plastic lenses and frames, and i used nail varnish remover with acetone in to get it off without dissolving anything!
