Depression is an interesting one.

My own opinion is that many more people think they are depressed than actually are.

I'm a bit old school on this - I have no doubt people no get depressed and it is terrible for those who do, but I think a lot of people are either made to think they are depressed or whenever they are generally down for a little bit and go to the doctor they are given pills for depression as the soft option.

It is very much a modern western disease: interestingly as eastern cultures are getting more and more westernised research is suggesting that incident rates of depression are going up and up...

So in summary whilst some people do get depressed I think in most cases people should try to cheer and pick themselves up. If you're busy you don't have so much time to get depressed.

Yes, i agree actually.
Though apparently, some scientists are believing that depression can be brought down the family by genetics.
Apparently they have found the gene that causes depression.
I don't know if this is a rumour or not. But it's rather interesting.
Really i think depression is caused by the past of the person, and the social life.
Because if a person is hurt or sad, if the person doesn't have many people that can support them, this can often worsen the hurt/anger/sadness, which leads to depression.
But yea, many people could be just really sad at that time and find that anti-depressants might help.
