Here is a VERY interesting one I read in this psychology book I am reading.
People will tend to rate attractive people are more competent and more intelligent than someone ugly, even though in practice this is not only not likely to be true but often it seems that ugly people have better brains to compensate!
The idea is we will rate someone better based on their appearance as the human brain tends to think attractiveness goes with intelligence and so on even when that's not true.
So if you want people to think well of you then become more attractive (or take steps like dress well, be smart and take care of your appearance and so on!)
