1: Discovering The Outcome Of Your Interview
Jobs : The Post Interview Process So, you have had the interview. What happens next? This, of course, varies from company to company. Sometimes the results will be known within hours, for others it might take as long as a few weeks to find out the result - whether it is for the actual job itself or for another round of interviews which you can look forward to(!) Either way, the company should give you some indication of the timescale of their decision, and tell you how to get the results - will they phone or email you, or will they expect you to call them for the results at a certain time or date? Make sure that you check on the above after the interview if you do not already know the answer or have not been told. Make a note of what they tell you in your diary so that if you need to do anything you will remember. If you are given a date or time to phone then make sure that you phone at that time or on that day - if they are going to offer you a job, then phoning a week later is not going to create a good impression and indeed in that time they might just have changed their minds. Now all you can do is wait. It seems a little odd to write a 'thank you' letter for having had an interview at this stage, or phoning them up to ask about the progress of the interview and their decisions before the appointed decision day. All you can do is congratulate yourself on a good performance and wait. Unless you want to do some 'self analysis'. This is not necessary, however, and depends on who you are. It has benefits and dangers!
