To avoid sporting injuries, the key is to warm up thoroughly and to warm down afterwards. This sounds simple, but it is amazing the number of people that stop instantly after exercise - and then are surprised when they are sore the next day.



Rather, you should warm down as well, a few gentle laps of the tennis court, for instance, and a few gentle stretches. This way you will avoid pulls and strains.
