How To Back An Each-way Horse

Miscellaneous

To back an each-way horse you should look for certain conditions to be true.

First of all, if the main horse you want to back is odds on don't go for it. As a rule you need to make a very large stake to back an odds on winner.

With an each way bet, the standard is to pay out a quarter of the original bet.

Therefore if the best is 4 - 1 you would get 1 back for every 1 placed.

This means that you should never go each way unless the horse is at least 4 - 1. Why?

Because if the horse is placed you won't even get your money back unless it is at least 4 - 1.
