Learn about it by reading up in magazines, online and watching video tutorials. Try them out on friends and take photos for your portfolio. You may want to work at a cosmetic counter in Boots or somewhere to get some experience. You should get some free samples as well! Go to a make up artist school or take a course. Read up on different skin tones and what products match which complexions. Make sure you understand about any skin allergies and what to do about dry or greasy skin as well. Build up a list of clients and maybe create a website to promote your services. Always be nice to them. Throw away old make up and clean brushes regularly to avoid bacteria building up. Keep trying and don't give up. If you want it to happen then it will, you just have to work for it.
