Train them to get used to this first before taking it any further! When they allow you to do so without grumbling or griping, then give the a reward. Next you will need to buy a special pet tooth cleaning kit - don't use human brush or paste. They will have a special paste and perhaps a different type of brush. Try to brush gently but girmley enough to be effective, and don't spend too long if possible.
