How To Capture An Interview

Hobbies : Photography

If you are conducting an interview to accompany a picture story or article(s) that you are writing then you need to capture the information.

The recommendation is to use both a tape recorder and also to use a notebook. Why is this?

Well the tape is great in case anything slips through the net and to get accurate quotes.

However, you won't want to write the article in the order you ask the questions and with the notebook you can flip back and forth. With the tape recorder you have to keep on re-winding to re-hear what you said.

Therefore use that as the back up but use the notebook as the main source to write the article, then refer to the tape recording of the interview if you feel it is necessary.
