| Computing : Operating Systems If you want to close a window quickly when you are using windows, then use a keyboard shortcut. The way to do this is to hold down Alt then press F4 at the same time. You will find that this closes the current window, and is quicker than using the mouse to close the window, or dragging the window until it is on the screen and closing it that way.
