Copy Writing For The Web: Time Limited Offers
| Hobbies : Writing Time limited offers are often seen on the web to try and encourage you to download. If you have seen sales processes for many ebooks and so on you get something like this: "Hurry! I can only hold this price for the next two days. After that, the $15 becomes $152. Then a week later I will take it off the market as I only want to share this information with a few people". Now, this appeals to two instincts - exclusivity as it is not a free for all, and also a time urgency or pressure. The aim, of course, to stop us dithering about whether to buy or not, but to encourage us to take the plunge. Now, does this work? Well, I'm not sure about the science behind it, but the fact is many successful marketers do use this trick with their online sales copy, so presumably it must have some impact and work for them!
