How To Deal With Annoying Calls
| Business : Running Your Business One of the most annoying things of running your own small business is that as soon as you are registered as a company and have a phone number, half the calls you get will be unwanted ones. You will get people phoning up offering you all sorts of things, from stationery and engraved pens, to those that want you to take part in some time consuming business survey. Worst of all you will get calls from scammers trying to trick you into sending them money and of course getting nothing in return. Typical scams include prentending that you or another employee have paid for a listing in some non existent magazine, and therefore you need to be on your guard. Best advice: ensure that you are polite but always say no, and get off the phone as quickly as you can from all these people. The frustration is that you want to answer the call as it could be a client or potential client, but there is a lot of rubbish to weed out too. If you do have a secretary or can afford to get some PA or VA assistance, do consider it, as it can save you having to deal with this sort of call as long as the PA or VA is well trained.
