The first is to ensure that the oven switches off whenever the door is open. If not then switch off immediately and contact the manufacturer. Also be sure not to stand too close to the oven whilst it is cooking. The reason is that leakages of microwave radiation can be hazardous and therefore you should keep out the way whilst cooking - leakage won't always be obvious. Be sure to check that the latches and hinges are fully sealed, as if they get damaged or lose their shape a little then they can easily leak dangerous radiation.
