Sure, you could fall in love with what you want them to be, or your idealised conception of them, or your idea of them based on ignorance, but if you want to fall in love with the person themself, then there is no shortcut to finding out all you can about them. And that's why the title of this article is around asking questions. Over time ask your partner every question you can think about them, their dreams, hopes, expectations, goals, what they want from a relationship, what they want from life. When you get a really good and true picture of someone only then can you really say that you have fallen in love with them, because at that stage it is indeed them that you know.
