| Business : Small Business Ideas Like most things in life, there are pros and cons to franchising. Probably the most obvious pro is that the risk is limited. It is a tried and tested business that has presumably worked elsewhere. Many will know what the business is and what it does, removing one potential barrier to entry. The downside is that you will have less freedom than if you start truly your own business. The franchisor may have rather strict rules as to what you can and cannot do.
