How To Get A Good Javelin Grip
Sport : Athletics The key to a good javelin grip is one that gives you control, whilst at the same time having least affect on the throw. In other words, you need to be able to have control of the javelin whilst at the same time having a grip that ensures that the javelin is slowed down the least at the point of throw through friction and technique, whilst also staying on course. Different throwers will naturally experiment with different techniques until they find the one that suits them and their individual style the best. In the javelin event, there seem to be three grips that are the most popular and dominate the event - these are the finnish, fork and american grips.
