| Miscellaneous If your children don't respect you, then ask yourself why. Many kids do have respect but just pretend not to as a part of growing up. If you have real issues, then it is usually down to: - not spending enough time with kids - giving in too easily on things with kids - being too hard and dogmatic on matters Once you identify where the problem(s) lie then look to redress the balance. If you never spend time with the children then try to rectify this. If you are too easy then they just won't respect you and think they can walk all over you - so stand firm. Similarly if you are too hard they might grow to resent you so soften up a little bit.
