There are many, many diet plans out there and nutrition plans on the market.
Each contains different combinations of foods that you should eat week in week out. So best to make them tasty and not bland - eating is one of the pleasures of life!
One diet plan is certainly colourful - it says to eat nine different items per day - of different colours!
The thinking is that different coloured foods tend to offer us a variety of different things that our body needs.
For instance, red and pink foods tend to contain certain phytochemicals, whilst yellow/green contain different ones.
Therefore the theory is by having a mixed of coloured foods, we receive the full range of elements we need to keep us healthy!
