One fairly safe way to express your personality is through the ties that you wear at formal occasions or even to work. If you are conservative, then stick to simple one tone ties or pleasant striped ties. If you are a bit whackier, then experiment with brighter colours and even some contrasting colours if you feel brave. However, be wary of ties with little silly symbols or motifs on - these can look a bit childish and be a turn off. No more mickey mouse on your tie, please - you're a grown up!
