Therefore something like going for a walk is still excellent exercise without putting undue strain or pressures on any particular area of the body. If just walking, then that is fine as a warm up, but if doing any other exercise you need to be particularly careful to ensure that you warm up - and of course in general for anyone it is a good idea to warm up but particularly as you get older as your body and its muscles are more prone and likely to suffer pulls and so on if you don't warm up.
