How To Remove Grease Stains

Cleaning : Leather

To get rid of grease stains, the best method is quite a simple one.

First of all if there is any loose grease that can be taken off, then just rub it off with a cloth so as there is just a thin layer that you can't easily get off on the leather goods.

Then all you do is get some plain and unscented talcum powder, which you can get in many stores, and sprinkle just a small amount on the section of leather that has the grease on it.

There should be enough that it is visible, but not covered. Some people find it useful to then put a sheet of normal white paper or brown paper on top, and then a book to apply a little pressure.

Leave for a few hours and come back, if you use the paper and weight method you should find that the grease has gone into the talcum powder and onto the paper leaving some translucent markings there in.

Simply remove the paper and book and wipe off the powder with a cloth and the grease should be gone.
