How To Run Faster

Sport : Athletics

One method that some find useful at running faster on race day is to use gentle leg weights in the warm up to an event.

These are low value weights that are literally in pads that you strap to your legs in practice. Of course, when you run with these it is harder work than without, and you end up going slower than you would normally.

Then before the race take off the pads. Your legs will have remembered what it was like with the weight pads on, and therefore in the race you will move much easier and it will feel as though you are really flying as you run.

Some people believe that doing this actually helps them to run faster in the event itself - so it is up to you to experiment and see if this is true for you too!
