The first of these is to use the watering can rather than a hose - because the hose pumps out far much more water than is needed and using a watering can you will use a lot less. The second tip is to use a water butt to store water that falls in the form of rain from the sky. Indeed this is better for plants anyway as water from the tap is treated for humans and not for plants! One effective method too is if you have a run off from the drains or even from the bath, you can use the water from that too to water the plants and therefore recycle your water that way too.
