Selling Home: Preparing Your House For Visits

Money : Property

If people will be coming around to visit, there are a few things you can do to make the place seem more attractive to them.

The first of course is to tidy everything up. This includes the garden. When you are showing people around the rule is to have the home look almost as though it is not lived in - when it comes to tidiness!

However having a homely feel is also important, we all know how bare and different a house looks when it has been stripped to its bare bones.

Next there are some other things you can do get that feel good factor around the home and it depends on the season.

In winter, turn the heating on and make it nice and room. This gives a cosy and welcoming feel, and also shows that the heating is working (a nasty surprise for some summer buyers when the winter comes!)

If selling in summer, have the windows open to get a light airy feel through the home, and also note certain smells like bread baking or coffee can all add a pleasant aire.

You could even simply place one coffee bean under the grill or similar for a minute just before the visitors come(!)
