How To Speed Up Windows XP

Computing : Operating Systems

When you move to XP one of the first things you note is that the graphics look nicer and cleaner than previous versions of Windows.

Of course this comes at a price - in terms of speed - because these all take processor time.

Therefore one of the easiest ways to speed Windows XP up slightly is to turn off all these effects on your graphics - all the nice shadows and so on you can no doubt live without!

To do this, follow this:

- right click My computer, --> properties, --> advanced --> performance {Settings}

Then select Adjust for best performance

And there you go - all those fades and shadows are turned off!
