Successful Networking: Listening Is Key
Career : Business Networking One of the keys to good networking technique is to not be in a rush to talk about yourself, but rather to listen to others. As a rule of thumb if you notice you are talking more than are listening, then you are talking too much! Listening is vital because you never know what you can pick up. And the more information you find about others the more you can assess about how they can help you and - remember - just as importantly, you can work out ways in which you might be able to help them out too. Be sure to ask them lots of questions to find out about their likes, dislikes, experiences and so on.
