Successful Networking: More Events Means More Connections
Career : Business Networking There is a simple piece of maths to be applied here: the more places and events you attend where networking goes on, the greater the number of people you will meet and add to your network - and the greater the chance of meeting someone really interesting (potential business partner, employer, and so forth). Try to go to as many events as you can, and often those where you know very few people will actually turn out to be the best for you to attend. Try to talk to people on a one to one basis rather than in a big group. Reason: this will enable you to be more focussed and them too into the exchange of key information. In larger groups chat can be interesting but less business focussed and talk turns to things such as sport, the weather, how bad London transport is and so forth.
