How To Wire A Plug In The UK

DIY : Home Repair

Take the back off the plug and ensure a fuse is present on the fuse terminal.

Your electrical lead will have two or three coloured componants. There will always be a blue and brown wire, and sometimes there will be a yellow and green combined wire.

The brown wire is the LIVE wire. This gets connected to the fuse terminal in the plug.

The blue wire is connected to the terminal opposite the fuse terminal (the 2nd lower terminal)

The yellow/green wire is connected to the larger terminal at the top of the plug.

Put the back on the plug, plug in and test!
