How To Write Copy For Web Sites

Hobbies : Writing

When it comes to writing for the web, you will need to adapt techniques that you use for offline media.

The key to the internet is that communication should be short, sharp and punchy.

If you have long reams of copy, people will just switch off and not find it appealing.

It is also harder to read text off the screen than it is from a book or piece of paper - therefore use shorter paragraphs and plenty of white space to help the eye.

Try always to reduce what you are given to the key, salient points - there is no space for waffle.

If you really have a lot to explain, then consider splitting into several pages rather than one long ramble.
