Your First Speed Dating Event

Relationships : Speed Dating

When you go to your first speed dating event you are likely to be quite nervous.

Therefore dragging a friend along with you will be the best thing to do.

Not only will this mean it is less likely that either of you chicken out and don't attend the event, but more importantly it means that you have someone else to go there with, compare notes and talk to as it were during the event and after, and offer moral support.

Then when you get more comfortable and if you enjoy it you could consider going to other events on your own, but you will often see people go with a friend or two to a speed dating event.

Another big benefit of having a friend there is that if you liked someone and your friend meets the same person, then they can also establish an opinion and see what they think about them, which can give you more information about whether it really would be a good match for you and help inform you whether you tick their box on the attendees sheet or not.

The only complication would come if you both really like the same person and she ticks one of your boxes but not the other - in that case you'll just have to learn to be philosophical about it!

Also be a little wary of going with a friend whose opinion influences you too much, though - if you really like someone or really don't that they do, then stick to your guns. A lot of this is very subjective so it is OK to have different opinions, in fact it is expected.
