Amateur Poem: Your Breath

Here is my first poem, which I called Your Breath.

If there be sweeter music I should love to hear
For what on earth could challenge this wondrous sound
Even the opening of heaven's gates would not come bear
Nor the most melodic of church bells peeling a round
The nightingale and blackbird could not ever match
or rival what my eaps lap up like aural mead
Not even the glee of a fisherman's record catch
Would come close - nor any other mortal deed
That which is so precious cannot be expressed in money
It is priceless and even to suggest the greatest cost
Would lessen it like removing sugar from honey
For that once surrendered is surely forever lost
Our love is eternal and without end even in death
That sweetest of melodies is the sound of your breath

Next: My First Sonnet
