How To Cope With The Flu

Health And Fitness : Top Health Tips

Flu

Doc Says:

So you feel the onset of a brain mashing headache, along with major muscle aches, home tiring fatigue, vomiting, and a fever that makes you sweat and shiver.

WELL GUYS SAY HELLO TO THE FLU!

Some people will get a flu shot before the season begins. A shot can prevent the flu or lessen it?s severity.

If it strikes at home, with most of the action on the home front, here are some things you can do to make it flee.

Feed That Flu.
You need vitamins and minerals to mount an effective defense against the bug.
Aim for a well balanced meal, or at least eat some mashed bananas, or applesauce.
Some kind of a bland fruit

Sip Your Nutrition.
Drinking your nutrients is a swell idea, when you have the flu. Especially if you?re not up to eating solid foods. Wash down your meals with a vitamin rich juice such as vegetable juice, or have a bowl of chicken soup. The more fluid you drink, the more the tissues are hydrated and the more mucus flows.

Beware Of Fluid Flu Remedies.
Combinations of cold/flu liquid remedies, can contain as much as 80 proof alcohol. That is equal to the amount in a shot of liquor. Alcohol can depress your immune system , and dry out your mucus membranes.

Toss Your Toothbrush.
The virus continues to linger, on wet tooth brushes. So you reinfect yourself, day after day. Throw those brushes away three days after the onset of flu, and get a new one.

Steer Clear Of Crowds.
Stay away from malls, theatres, or any other crowded environment between December and February. These months increase your chances of ending up in bed, flat on your back. Especially if your resistance is low.

Develop Hand Washing Habits.
Any soap will kill the flu virus. But you must remember to wash your hands, several times throughout the day. Not only after meals, and using the bathroom. These precautions will help reduce the chances of infection.
When a family member is sick, you can use a disinfectant spray, on the sink, toilet, and countertops. Use hot soapy water to wash towels, telephones, and dishes.

Go For The Droplets.
Humidifying a room can help lick the flu. The vapor emiited by the humidifier, moistens the mucus membranes, in your nose and throat. Therefore germs are more easily trapped and expelled.
REMEMBER TO RINSE IT OUT DAILY TO PREVENT THE BUILD UP OF MOLD AND FUNGUS IN THE WATER RESERVOIR.
RUN A HOT WATER AND BLEACH MIXTURE THROUGH THE MACHINE AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK.
You could also use a hot steam humidifier that moisturizes and kills microbial growth in the water.

Breathe Deeply. And Meditate.
Relaxation techniques may protect, you from influenza and other infections.
Try deep breathing and stretching. Or yoga and meditation.

Don?t Exercise.
Once you have been hit with the bug, get into bed and cancel that daily run.
This kind of pushing can depress your immune system, and slow recovery.

AFTER ALL SYMPTOMS HAVE CLEARED, WHICH TAKES ABOUT A WEEK. WAIT TWO MORE WEEKS BEFORE RETURNING TO YOUR REGULAR EXERCISE SCHEDULE.
