How To Deal With Mistakes

From time to time, employees will inevitably make mistakes since they are after all human.

If they own up to it and take responsibility then that is fine.

But what if they let it go unnoticed - or hope that's what happened - or even try to cover it up or blame someone else for their error?

In that circumstance, you need to prompt the member of staff and give them plenty of chance to own up.

Note that you should make it clear that lies are not to be tolerated in your business; also ensure that you have robust code of conduct in place for employees to abide by.
