We all need some treats to keep us going, and many of us enjoy eating out at restaurants both for the food and the social element.

And the good news is that if you're on a diet then if you are sensible you won't ruin it by eating out!

Make sure that for main course that you have something like chicken or fish. If there are rich dishes usually done in butter then simply ask if it could be done without the butter - they normally oblige.

Similarly if most food is fried ask if it can be perhaps grilled instead as this is healthier.
