What this means is that they won't often know the relevant skills or otherwise. This is where you can help them. In your covering letter, actively suggest the skills that you think would be important, and then mention of course that you have these as outlined on your CV. If you take the time to suggest useful skills then it is sure to stand out from the rest and should get you through to the next stage.
