Match Your Complexion To Your Make Up Style

Beauty : Beauty Tips

Matching your skin and hair tones to your make up style is really important to get the best combination that suits you the most.

Red haired people often have a pale complexion, so keep cosmetics simple. Create a subtle winged eye look with a liquid eyeliner, use black mascara to darken light lashes and make eyes stand out. Try a pale pink blusher on cheeks too. You can be more daring with lipstick though, red and deep pink shades work well, and obviously will match with your hair colour.

Dark hair with pale skin can be a striking look, and strong eyeshadow and lip colour can be perfect, but NOT at the same time. Choose one or the other. An eyebrow pencil can highlight strong eyebrows and help frame your face. Smoky eye shadow can also look amazing, so experiment with lots of different looks. Using a highlighter over cheekbones brings them out, along with the eyebrow arch. Make sure you keep lips simple and natural.

Blonde hair and blue eyes work well with a fresh foundation and soft peach blusher or bronzer. Several layers of mascara help bring out eye colour. Go for a strong lip base too - vary between light pink hues and bold red lips.

Glowing, darker complexions don't really need a lot of make up. A great foundation is important though, and go with adventurous shades with either eyes or lips to make one of the features stand out more. Maybe glossy lips, or smudged black eyeliner and mascara.

Dark hair and olive complexion people can get away with false eyelines and darker eye make up. Use a good bronzer in the summer, and remember this skin colour really suits coral and pink shades. Match nail and lip make up for a striking effect.
