Money Saving Tips For Students

Money : Saving

Before you leave for uni, plan out a budget management plan so you can save as much as possible and avoid stressful times ahead.

Consider home insurance in your plan too, as well as accommodation costs and bills. It will protect you if you are burgled for example. Have a look online for the best deal around.

Research parking costs beforehand if you drive, as some unis don’t let students park on campus and others charge a lot. You could ask local neighbours to park in their drive way in exchange for a small fee. Consider public transport such as a train as you can get about a third of rail way tickets if you get a 16-25 young persons card.

When you move house at the end of the year, look into removal options beforehand as if you don’t have a car then a removal company may be your only option.

You may want to use a storage company to keep furniture locally as well.

Factor weekly food shops into your budget too and keep costs down as possible. Cook from home and don’t get takeaways as often, as it will be much cheaper.
