Pointing
Self Development : Interpreting Body Language The way in which the body literally points can also be a good clue to the thoughts and feelings of any member of a group or conversation. Here's how it works: We naturally face the person we feel most comfortable around or even feel sympathy with or some sort of other link - and vice versa with other people, too. Therefore if someone is rather facing the door in a meeting it may be that all is not going well. However, if someone faces you then it shows that they are comfortable around you; whilst again a chair turned away shows something more negative. The standard chair straight ahead suggests merely neutrality. Be conscious of how your pointing and positioning demonstrates to others about your own thoughts and feelings about them and be sure not to show disinterest through pointing where possible.
