First: get a quality filing cabinet and lots of dividers. Mark each divider up as you see fit - for instance one per client, or business you deal with, or whatever the logical split is for your business. You may have a paid and unpaid folder, or a pending folder too, perhaps one for receipts - only you know how best to segment your operations. Once done, simply stick to filing things in the right place. Over time you may need more folders or an archive folder for old items.
