How To Solve A Simple Equation - III

Education : Maths

If there is an unknown on both sides of the equation, then that's ok too - as long as you remember to be consistent and apply the same action on both sides of the equation.

Let's say we had:

2x + 6 = 12 - x

Here, we can again rearrange:
step 1: 2x = 6 - x (take 6 off each side)

step 2: 3x = 6 ( add x to each side)

step 3: x = 2 (divide each side by three)
