To stop the fizz disappearing from an open bottle of champagne, put the handle of a stainless steel teaspoon in the neck of the bottle.

Drop a teaspoon handle first into the neck of the bottle. The bowl of the spoon will rest on the mouth of the bottle and the bubbles will collect on the handle and stay in the bottle.
