How To Store Wine

Food And Drink : Drinks

If you want to store wine, then you should not be put off by any labels that say you should drink a wine within a few months of purchase etc - this is rarely true.

To store a wine all you need to do is have a nice dark cupboard in the house somewhere that has a lower temperature than the rest of the house but is not subject to massive extremes (you don't want it to be below zero for instance).

With a sealed bottle and a standard cork, the best way to store the wine is on its side as you see in cellars.

The reason for this is that it stops the cork from starting to split or dry out as would happen if it were standing up straight.
