| Career : Business Networking One of the key parts to successful networking is to remember that it is as much about how you can help others as much as they can help you. Other people are networking with you as much as you are networking with them. If you can offer them nothing then they are less likely to become a valuable part of your network than the scenario where you are both able to help each other. Therefore don't always expect to be prompted but rather offer up ways in which you can help other people in your network. Thus if you are a software developer then you might know a program that will help them do their job more effectively - if so, say so!
