So you think antioxidants are good for you?

Most people think that antioxidants are a really good idea and you should have loads of them in your diet.

This is due to the 'bad' free radicals that move around the body and cause ageing and damage the internals of our body, which are mopped up by the anti-oxidants that react with them.

The truth often is inconvenient to a fiction, but the reality is that, if anything at all, research suggests that taking antioxidants is actually harmful or at best has no impact.

One study was done where it was considered actually unethical to keep the trial going because those who took the antioxidants when they had cancer or had a greater incidence of death than those in the control group.

So don't believe everything that you read in the papers!
