Why? Because this will ensure that you burn up excess fat to start with.
The dangers of a diet and exercise are that you might start burning up muscle instead of fat depending on the state of your diet and your current state, therefore this is more of a hindrance than a help.
Therefore ensure if you do diet and exercise that your diet still means that you get all the essential nutrients that you need for a healthy body and mind.
